Manual Handling
The chemagic DNA Blood10 Kit and the chemagic DNA Blood100 Kit provide an efficient and fast DNA purification from 1 µl up to 200 µl of blood without the need of proteolytic digestion steps and heating. Extremely low elution volumes of e.g. 20 µl, starting with 100 µl blood, guarantee highly concentrated, purified DNA (A260/A280 = 1.7 - 1.9) which is suitable for downstream applications such as PCR.

Manual purification from starting volumes of up to 20 ml of blood can easily be acomplished using the chemagic DNA Blood5k Kit or the chemagic DNA Blood10k Kit. A parallel experiment using ten 10 ml samples of the same human blood was performed with the chemagic DNA Blood10k Kit and a kit based on precipitation, which is used routinely in many labs for genomic DNA isolation from large starting volumes. The next picture shows 0.05 % of eluted DNA obtained in this experiment visualized on an agarose gel.

Kits applied on chemagic Automation
The chemagic DNA Blood Kits special (chemagic MSM I) or the Prepito Blood Kits (chemagic Prepito) are designed for automated DNA isolation from fresh or frozen EDTA or Citrat/ACD stabilized whole blood.
Applied on the chemagic MSM I they provide robust low to high throughput DNA isolations from 10 µl up to 10 ml of blood and reveal high molecular DNA with highest yield and purity. The chemagic MSM I/chemagic Blood Kit system is mainly designated for routine laboratories where the combination of speed, reliability and reasonable pricing represents an important parameter for profitability and success.
Prepito DNA Blood Kits on the chemagic Prepito represent a time- and cost-saving alternative without loosing important flexibility. DNA isolated with chemagic Kits can be used for a huge variety of downstream applications for e.g. human genetics or HLA-Typing (SSP, SSO, SBT, Southern-Blotting, methylation-sensitive restriction digests, MLPA, Pyrosequencing, Wavescan, SNPlex, TaqMan, MassARRAY etc.).
