chemagic Technology for DNA Isolation from Plant Material
The chemagic DNA Plant Kit special is designed for the automated purification of total DNA from plant tissue. The procedure on the chemagic MSM I requires no centrifugation steps. An additional advantage is the incorporated removal of the grinding beads (steel or tungsten carbide) after homogenising the plant material in a bead mill (e.g. Geno/GrinderTM 2000 or Retsch® Mixer Mill MM 300).
The picture on the right side shows the schematic procedure including the removal of grinding beads (a.), the separation of Magnetic Beads (b.), the capturing of DNA from the plant lysate (c.), washing (d.) and elution step (e.).
Results
Right fig.: Total DNA from different plant species purified with the chemagic DNA Plant Kit. Electrophoresis of 5 % of the eluates in a 1 % agarose gel.
